Sept. 14 - Prosecutors cause mistrial.
Countdown for Federal Criminal Trial ...jury selection
* hopefully the Prosecution team will be more on-point this time.
I apologize about the profanity when trying to get an answer from Larkin and Lacey. The 3 goals of this effort remain:
1- Make sure those on trial pay dearly for their actions, while putting on notice others currently marketing trafficking victims in any way.
2- Find out why the heck Tony Ortega has not been charged, or even interviewed as part of this trial.
3- Clawback the profits from backpage.com ($165 mil. per year est.) and provide DIRECT PAYMENTS to survivors and victim family immediately, while also establishing an ongoing funding mechanism for survivors and victim families support services.
"Human trafficking sucks, the people who promote and advertise it, are scumbags."

On Oct. 11, 2011 at California State University Fullerton, human trafficking advocates gathered for the first public Protest of Tony Ortega and Backpage. During his speech that night in front of the CSUF Alumni Association Ortega said: "I'm now running one of the most controversial publications in the country which is why I have a protest going on and I'm actually really kind of honored at the protesting .....they don't really understand what's going on .......I'm glad that you were able to get past the barricades and come to this wonderful party."
Now, a decade later, most of the executives from the backpage organization are facing trial in Arizona and the potential of very lengthy sentences for what we call their crimes against humanity. But, no Tony Ortega. No deposition taken about his involvement, no charges filed, no defendants asking for his recollections of events from 2008-2012. Why is that? From Backpage, to the Frontpage is an exhaustive, investigative effort to uncover the answers to these questions: Did the victims, survivors and their advocates "...not really understand what's going on?" What is the Truth and where is the Justice for the backpage Survivors? Why have Tony Ortega and others not faced their day of reckoning...yet? And maybe most importantly, where do we as a society go from here?

I was there on the 6th of October, 2011 when Ortega said: " ...they don't really understand what's going on ..." Well, we knew what was going on then, and we now continue the fight for Justice a decade later, with a three-prong strategy: Investigate, Compensate and Organize.
Our goal: Justice for Survivors and the establishment of a NGO ,The National Association of Human Trafficking Victim Advocates, to support the victim advocates and Survivors.
